As small business owners ourselves, we are always looking for ways to support others in our little community. Consider shopping small this holiday season (and always) and supporting one of these businesses, or a local business in your area - for your next White Elephant gift exchange. As a bonus: many local and small businesses already have their product in stock because it is made locally. And that’s cool.

It seems like this is the time of year when everyone needs a little extra jolt. This small batch, premium coffee co based out of Atlanta has plenty of options to choose from, including coffee, mugs and merch. Their Sunrise Blend is a fan favorite but you really can’t go wrong here.
#2. Martha Mae Stationery
This small business recently shifted to a purely e-commerce business model and sells all sorts of beautiful things. We’re not one to turn down anything to help keep us organized. And we love this simple little planner to help us start the year off right. A perfect gift for any holiday gift-swap.
#3. Machete Accessories
Machete is a one-stop-shop for all of the accessories you could ever need. They have jewelry, eyewear, hair accessories and even apple watch bands. Based out of Atlanta and women-owned.
#4. The Cookie Society
We know this is going to be the hot item at your gift exchange. Giant, delicious cookies that are baked fresh each week and delivered straight to your door. This small business is based outside of Dallas and their fans rave about these cookies. We won’t judge if you decide to just buy some for yourself.
#5. Zefiro Zero Waste
This zero waste store based out of Chicago has a ton of affordable and eco-friendly products to choose from. We like these reusable silicone lids that allow you to do away with that super annoying cling-wrap. Perfect especially if you want to run an eco-friendly themed Yankee Swap.
#6. Elle West
Elle West is a small batch candle company based out of Los Angeles. All of their candles are made there and they feature a variety of fragrances. Owned by a black woman, this company is all about taking care of yourself and getting cozy. We can get behind that.
#7. Semicolon Bookstore and Gallery
Supporting independent bookstores in one of the easiest ways to shop small throughout the year. This woman-owned bookstore has a great selection and their inventory is shoppable online. We picked one of our recent favorites but the possibilities are endless here.
#8. Seven Sisters
This shop based out of Portland, OR carries both their own products as well as those of other local and women-owned businesses. Their selection is expansive for sure but we love these unique candles as the perfect holiday gift this year. Cute and quirky is never a bad idea.
#9. Shaquanda Will Feed You Hot Sauce
This delicious hot pepper sauce was created by a Brooklyn-based drag queen in 2013. Produced in small batches and without fillers or starches each batch is unique. They have five different flavors to choose from and you can’t go wrong no matter where you land.
#10. Habit Cosmetics Nail Polish
We love this black woman-owned brand makes 100% vegan beauty products. The packaging is beautiful and sustainable and all of the products are multi-taskers. Sure to get stolen a few times at your next White Elephant game.
